Day 5 Singapore

Today was the Jurong Bird Park.  The best part was the kids water playground, so Charlotte went in there a couple of times.  We were still amazed that there never seems to be queues anywhere.

We had a buffet lunch in the bird park in time to watch the Lunchtime bird show.  It was the best meal we have all had here so far.  A traditional Singapore type of buffet that we all found things we liked.  And they had ice cream too!   They had a bird show during the meal too which kept us interested.

From the bird park we took a taxi to the Snow City.   A Very luxurious people mover type of van.  Jamie asked the driver how much it would cost to buy one and in Singapore it would cost about $220,000.

At Snow City we got all our gear - big jackets, pants and boots and gloves for Charlotte.  Snow City is a big Winter Wonderland where there is a big ice slide and a little kids snow playground and an ice chamber.  The big slide looked huge.  We took Charlotte up the stairs, but she wasn't keen on the big slide. Jamie went sliding down first, then Rach, but Charlotte still wasn't going to go, so I took her to the little slide and she had lots of fun sliding on that one.  Charlotte was enjoying her little slide and then got a bit cold, so we left there.

Right next door is the Science and Discovery Centre.   Lots of different discovery things for kids to do and play with and sort of puzzles and experiments.  Charlotte had fun there and we did too of course.  We did struggle to figure some of the exhibits out, as it was late in the day and we were all tired.  Then we walked back to the MRT and had our hour long journey back again.  Charlotte fell asleep on the train, but it was good she had a bit of rest.  We are off to the water slides at Sentosa tomorrow, so it should be lots of fun again ...

There's a couple of pics charlotte took of herself (and me) in this lot.. and I love the one of her in her big jacket and pants at the snow place... very cool.
