It is with great sadness that i have to report charlotte's period of remission is officially over.
The last few weeks we have all noticed small changes with her eyes but i still felt assured we would not hear bad news on wednesday.
The MRI comfirmed the tumour is now growing, rachel and i spoke to PMH staff with charlotte playing in another room. Their advice was to let her have a period of being a kid and let events unfold, answering her questions when things become obvious.
She is not taking chemo anymore which she is thankful (and already suspicious) about.
We do not know how long we have or when this beast will start to rob her of functions. We meet with community paliative care soon who will assist us to take care of her as things develop
For those that see charlotte please be careful what is said in front of her. She is happy and playing like any other child right now.
The final part of this journey promises to be very difficult on all that know charlotte - particularly our direct families. I simply hope that charlotte's final chapter is painless and without fear.. I can only hope.
