For those that can make it, Charlotte's funeral will be at Pinnaroo Memorial Park on Tuesday 9 July 2013 at 1pm. Exact details of the chapel will follow shortly. A wake is planned that will probably take place at Rachel's property in lower chittering. Again, details will follow as we confirm them.
We appreciate that each person will choose to show their love for charlotte in different ways and I do not wish to put rules around what should or shouldnt be done.
There will be a point during the service when you may leave something with Charlotte - be it flowers or a small teddy or something. You are welcome to leave something with her if you wish. Please note that these will go with Charlotte for cremation.
For those that wish to make a donation, I provide the following links as foundations which deserve our support:
Make a Wish - http://www.makeawish.org.au/
Charlotte enjoyed the best holiday and activities thanks to this organisation.
The Cure Starts Now - http://chapters.thecurestartsnow.org/australia/
This organisation directly supports research into DIPG (charlotte's brain cancer). The Australian Chapter is run by parents of a DIPG angel and have offered support and advice to me over this journey. Charlotte's tumour has been removed as part of a research program to find a cure that was established by this organisation. I have received regular messages from this organisation to get me through the journey.
The Isabella and Marcus Paediatric Brainstem Tumour Fund -http://www.isabellaandmarcusfund.org.au/
An organisation that directly supports research into DIPG and is established in memory of two DIPG angels. I have received regular messages from this organisation to get me through the journey.
The Kyle Andrews Foundation - http://www.kyleandrewsfoundation.com.au
Kyle had a dream to help kids and families at PMH Ward 3b. In his memory, the foundation has a house in Broome and runs annual camps for kids from the oncology ward. Charlotte enjoyed a lovely holiday at the house only a week before she became confined to bed.
Benny Wills Foundation - http://www.bennywills.org/research.aspx
Another foundation that is established in memory of a DIPG angel and directly supports research into DIPG. This organisation has provided Rachel with support during this journey.
If you donate to any of the above, feel free to let me know if you are comfortable so that I can attribute your donation to the memory of Charlotte.
