Day 10 and all is well

We are now one third of the way through Charlotte's radiotherapy treatment.  It was day 10 today of 30 days.  She is now a professional at radiotherapy treatment and lays perfectly still.  She was tapping her feet today and even took her own bandaid off her thumb as she was laying there.  Charlotte takes a different stuffed toy in each time she has her treatment, so they all get a go on the bed having a cuddle with her.

We also had her PMH appointment today where everything is checked to make sure she is still going along ok.  Everything is still the same as last week, including her blood count, so everyone is happy about that.  She had to have her thumb prick again for the blood count to be tested, so she was very worried about that.  Her blood came out very slowly today, so she had to sit there for a lot longer this time.  She was very good, even though it wasn't the most comfortable thing for her.  She said afterwards that it didn't hurt so much this time.  So she is getting used to this as well.

In the picture above you can see how Charlotte has to hold her head to the left to see straight now.  In the picture below you can see the obvious loss of function.

We are decreasing the amount of steroids as of today.  I had mentioned to the doctors this week that her right hand was a bit shaky and her tongue as well.  It seemed to happen after she had taken the steroids.  The steroids are causing her the most trouble at the moment, so we are glad that she can decrease these and then hopefully be off them totally in another couple of weeks.  She has the bigger tummy and swollen looking face from them, constantly hungry, doesn't sleep very well at night, mood swings, etc.  We should see a bit of improvement next week hopefully..
